Studying in Australia

World-class education

Australian universities have a reputation for excellence in many disciplines. Driven by a culture known for early adoption of innovation and technology, Australian universities are establishing themselves as first-class research centres and attract a superior quality of staff and students.

High standards are also ensured through Australian government guidelines. Australian education has a quality assurance system that is upheld by the Australian Government, with continuous checks and controls to ensure consistent quality. International students are guaranteed high standards of education and care through Australian law in the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act.

In addition, any Australian institutions providing education to international students must be registered with the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). Registration with CRICOS requires institutions to demonstrate that their qualifications meet Australian standards.

Australian degrees and qualifications are recognised internationally by leading employers and universities. Also, many professional associations in Australia have reciprocal agreements with their international counterparts — this makes it simple for Australian-qualified graduates in fields such as architecture and engineering to work in many different countries.
