Deakin's locations

Deakin University has four campuses in the state of Victoria — one in Melbourne, two in Geelong and one in Warrnambool. Each has a distinctive character and a strong presence in the local community.

Deakin’s Melbourne Campus at Burwood is a major metropolitan campus with more than 16,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled. The campus is well regarded for its modern architectural style and is about 40 minutes by tram from the city centre.

A one-hour trip by road or train west of Melbourne takes you to Victoria’s second largest city, Geelong, where Deakin University has two campuses. The Geelong Waterfront Campus, in the heart of the city, is an award-winning architectural showpiece. On the outskirts of the city, the Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds has extensive education and recreation facilities in an Aussie bush setting.

Deakin's Warrnambool Campus is located three hours from Melbourne by car or train, at the end of the spectacular Great Ocean Road. Marine and freshwater science and aquaculture is a focus for teaching and research at this campus.
