Where is UQ?
The University of Queensland is located on Australia’s eastern coast, in the state of Queensland. The state capital, Brisbane, is Australia’s third largest city, with a population of over 1.8 million. Brisbane offers a safe, affordable and relaxed lifestyle in a sunny, sub-tropical climate.
Queensland is home to some of the world’s most beautiful natural attractions, including Fraser Island, the Great Barrier Reef, the Whitsunday Islands and the Daintree Rainforest.
World-class campuses
The University has three world-class campuses located in and around Brisbane.
UQ St Lucia, the University’s largest campus, is located on the Brisbane River just a few minutes’ drive from Brisbane’s city centre. The St Lucia campus has a great tradition of academic excellence.
UQ Herston is UQ’s major clinical health teaching and research location. The campus is close to Brisbane’s CBD and is located alongside the Royal Children’s Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
35 minutes to the west is the UQ Ipswich campus. UQ Ipswich, a mix of heritage-listed buildings and excellent facilities, is one of the most technologically advanced campuses in the world.
UQ Gatton, an hour west of Brisbane, offers Queensland’s most extensive range of animal and veterinary science, environmental, agribusiness, food science, horticultural and agricultural programs.
